Pro surfer Kalani David, was born to Hawaiian parents, David and Andrea.
Not much information is available about his parents but his mother, Andrea, is an author of a travel book.
David had a seizure and died on September 17, 2022 while surfing in Costa Rica, following a long battle with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome.
He was aged 24.
Before his death, he experienced countless seizures, which required an open-heart surgery to get rid of an extra muscle from his heart.
In August of 2016, David had a seizure while on a skate cruise around Oceanside, California.
His condition worsened and later that same year, he experienced a six-hour seizure while at home on Oahu.
Friends took to social media to express their condolences to the family of David.
“Kalani was one of the most talented … surfer/skater on Earth, constantly pushing the limits every time he was on his feet … Condolences to the huge community of friends Kalani had coast to coast and across the globe”, Surfer Kelly Slater wrote on Instagram.
