Whitnall Basketball: What Happened To Alex Lloyd?
Alex Lloyd, assistant basketball coach of Whitnall highschool was pronounced dead by Travis Riesop on Twitter on February 8, 2022.
According to the sources, Lloyd committed suicide shortly after being barred from the school. He was also restricted to have any contact with students as part of an ongoing investigation.
An email sent to members of the Whitnall basketball team on Friday afternoon stated that Lloyd was not to be permitted in any school building. Or have any communication with any student.
A few hours later, Whitnall basketball players learned that their coach would not be assisting their game against Shorewood High School that night.
The families and the players were shocked to read the mail by Whitnall School District Superintendent Dr. Lisa Olson. The mail states that a Whitnall substitute and coach was involved in a tragic incident Sunday evening.
Olson continued, implying the events leading up to Lloyd’s suicide. “For those of you who have already been informed of this news, please do not speculate or contribute to any rumors.
” Rumors can be hurtful and unfair if they turn out to be false.” In a subsequent email to families, Dr. Olson confirmed Lloyd’s death and shared a link to his obituary on Wednesday morning.

Alex Lloyd’s cause of death has been released as suicide, but an investigation is ongoing to further investigate his death.
According to the report, he jumped to his death from Milwaukee’s Hoan Bridge over the weekend. It’s hard to believe that 28 years of a young and aspiring coach committed suicide.
He has also caddied for Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run.

People who knew Alex Lloyd are paying tribute to him with the obituary news following the announcement of his death.
Marcus Jackson, Milwaukee Lutheran High School basketball coach tweeted, “I heard about it after our filming session tonight, but I wasn’t sure if it was true or not until now.”
“Sincere condolences to the entire Whitnall basketball family on the passing of Coach Alex Lloyd. Whenever he saw me, he’d come over and say, “What’s up?” He’s a nice guy. Prayers for him and his family.’
His untimely death has devastated everyone.
Nkozi Knight also tweeted appreciating him for achieving his goal and said it was a pleasure coaching with him. He wrote, “It was a pleasure coaching AAU basketball with you and watching you achieve your dream of becoming the varsity basketball coach at Whitnall.”
“Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and mentor to my son. “
We pray for his friends and family as they deal with such tragic losses.
